Lawn Tennis

A. GENERAL

– The International Tennis Federation (ITF) rules and code of conduct shall govern the Tennis the tournament.
– In case of any dispute on the text, the English version of the latest ITF Rules shall prevail.
– Unforeseen incident not covered by the rules shall be dealt with as follows:
– Cases of general nature will be resolved in accordance with the Constitution and by Laws of PRISAA National Games and the Rules of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

Technical questions will be resolved in accordance with the rules of ITF.

B. SPECIFIC RULES

1. ELIGIBILITY RULES

All participants must be eligible to play in accordance with the Eligibility rules of PRISAA National Games

2. TEAM ENTRIES

Only one team entry per division will be allowed per delegation

3. CLASSIFICATION/EVENTS

Team Event            –     Men and Women
Individual Event     –     Men and Women

4. TEAM COMPOSITION

A team shall be composed of Four (4) minimum and Five (5) maximum players for the team events and two team officials.

5. TOURNAMENT FORMAT

The Single Round Robin shall apply using the following match sequence:

1st Single, doubles
2nd Singles (Best of 3 matches)

6. SCORING SYSTEM

Straight eight (8) games. At seven (7) all, a tie break

7. BREAKING OF TIES

To break tie for any place other than a simple two way tie, the quotient system as described hereafter shall apply:

7.1. The number of match won divided by the number of match lost among the teams involved 7.2 In case of further tie or ties, the total games won over the total games lost in the matches played among the tied teams.
7.3 If tie still exist, the total points scored over the total points scored against in the games played among the tied teams shall determine the ranking. A love game is equivalent to four (4) points, a deuce game is equivalent to five (5) points for the winner and three (3 points for the loser.

8. UNIFORM

Players must wear their proper uniform issued by their institution.

9. PROTEST

No protest on eligibility is entertained after the teams 2nd game. Protest on technicalities shall be resolved immediately within the level of the tournament director.

10. PRIZES

Champion – Gold Medal & a Certificate
1st Runner-Up – Silver Medals
2nd Runner-Up – Bronze Medals

11. COMMENDATION/SPECIAL AWARDS

Certificate for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in both men & women’s division.

12. VICTORY CEREMONIES

Victory ceremonies shall follow immediately after at the conclusion of the tournament.

13. UNFORSEEN EVENTS

As regards the specific items not expressly foreseen in this regulation, the Tournament Director will decide in consultation with the General Rules and Guidelines contained in the ITF and the PRISAA Rules and Regulations.
