Table Tennis
A. GENERAL RULES.
This Tournament shall be conducted in accordance with the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Laws & the Regulations for international competitions as modified by &/or supplemented in the Guidelines stated hereunder. Any unforeseen matter not covered by the rules shall be dealt with as follows:
1. Cases of general nature shall be resolved in accordance with PRISAA National Games.
2. Technical questions shall be referred to & resolved by the Tournament Director.
3. Matters not covered by this guidelines and the PRISAA National Games, shall be resolved by the Technical Committee composed of the Tournament Director, the Referee & the Executive Director in consultation with the National Executive Board.
B. ELIGIBILITY CLAUSE
A player must meet the eligibility requirement as prescribed by PRISAA NATIONAL GAMES Committee.
C. SPECIFIC RULES
1. Date & Venue: Games shall be held in accordance with the date & venue prepared by PRISAA NATIONAL GAMES Committee.
2. Competition Format per Event:
2.1 Men’s Team (MT) & Women’s Team (WT).
2.1.1 Entries: not more than one MT & not more than one WT.
Usual Number of Players/Team:
Men’s Team – Minimum of four (4) players,
Women’s Team – Minimum of four (4) players
2.1.2 Team Match Order: 1st Singles, Doubles, 2nd Singles (SDS). Individual matches shall be played in the best-of-five games. A player shall play once in a match.
2.1.3 In a Team Match, if a Team has only three players, it shall automatically lose its 1st Singles in favor of the team of four players. If both competing Teams have only (3) three players, the winner shall be the team with the higher win/loss games ratio, in case of a tie, the win/loss points ratio shall be
considered.
2.1.4 Elimination Round. Teams shall be divided into four (4) groups (A, B, C & D). Each group shall vie in single round-robin. Top ranked team per group shall advance to the Semi-Final Round.
2.1.5 Semi-Final Round. Group A Top ranked team vs. Group B top ranked team. Group C top ranked team vs. Group D top ranked team.
2.1.6 Final Stage. Winners in the Semi-Final Stage shall vie for 1st Place(Champion) Losers in the Semi Final Stage shall be declare as 3rd Placers(2nd Runner-ups)
2.2. Men’s Singles (MS) & Women’s Singles (WS).
2.2.1 Entries per Region: Not more than two (2) Men’s Singles players, not more than two (2) Women’s Singles players.
2.2.2 Matches shall be played in the best-of-five games.
2.2.3 MS & WS Events players shall not play in the MD & WD Events.
2.2.4 Players shall vie in the single knock-out system to determine the top four (4) ranked players in each Event.
2.3 Men’s Doubles (WD), Women’s D0ubles (WD) & Mixed Doubles (XD).
2.3.1 Entries per Region: Not more than one (1) MD pair,
Not more than one (1) WD pair,
Not more than one (1) XD pair.
2.3.2 Matches shall be played in the best-of-five games.
2.3.3 Violators of the above Article 2.2.3 shall lose all their
played games in the Individual Events in favor of their opponents.
2.3.4 Competing pairs shall vie in the single knock-out system to determine the top four (4) ranked pairs in
each Event.
D. OFFICIAL BALL
Colored-white, 40mm diameter, Nittaku 3-star brand.
E. ATTENDANCE
1. Players are advised to be in proper playing attire during matches.
2. The Team Draw Slip must be accomplished & submitted to the Referee ten (10) minutes before the scheduled match.
3. Called competitors must immediately report to their assigned match area for attendance check. Absence of a team player shall be penalized by a “team default”.
F. APPEALS/PROTESTS
Teams who were not represented on the Solidarity Meeting waive their right to appeal/protest on matters discussed/resolved on such meeting.
G. AWARDS & MEDALS
One male player & one female player shall each be given a special award as the “MOST OUTSTANDING ATHLETE”(MOA) of the season based on the Results of the Team Events Results. Below are the numbers of /event/winner
